Hobart Airport Named Major Partner for 2025 Export Awards
Hobart Airport has been announced as Major Partner for the Tasmanian Export Awards 2025.
Now in its 31st year, the awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Tasmanian businesses in the international marketplace.
Premier and Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Jeremy Rockliff, said the Tasmanian Export Awards highlighted the success stories of local businesses that have excelled in exporting goods and services.
“It is a showcase of the diversity and strength of Tasmania’s export sector,” Premier Rockliff said.
“We are thrilled to have Hobart Airport on board as this year’s major awards partner.
“The airport’s commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with the values we celebrate through these awards.
“This partnership underscores the importance of recognising and supporting the local businesses that contribute significantly to Tasmania’s economy and global presence.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are backing businesses to grow and diversify their export markets, helping to keep the economy strong and create local jobs.”
Hobart Airport CEO Norris Carter said Hobart Airport played a key role in supporting Tasmania’s economy by connecting Tasmania to the world.
“We’re investing over $350 million to upgrade the airport to make tomorrow’s Tasmania possible, including upgrading the airfield to allow non-stop widebody flights into key Asian hubs for the first time ever,” Mr Carter said.
“Direct links to Tasmania’s most important export markets will make it easier for Tasmania’s exporters to reach more customers overseas and boost jobs and opportunities here at home.
“We’ve been involved in the awards for many years and are always impressed by the calibre of Tasmanian businesses and the innovative world-class products they offer – it’s an honour to shine a light on Tasmania’s best exporters and support them in their quiet pursuit of the extraordinary.
“The awards not only honour individual achievements but also encourage others to explore global opportunities and contribute to our state’s continued economic success.
“Tasmania’s export industry is on a strong trajectory, with export figures reaching a record $504 million in January alone. I encourage all of our exporting businesses to submit their applications.”
Nominations are now open and close on Friday, 13 June 2025.
The Tasmanian Export Awards 2025 will be announced at a gala evening on Friday, 19 September 2025 in Hobart.
All national-category award winners will be invited to attend the National Export Awards to be held in Canberra in November.
