Import inspections can now be done on the Biosecurity Portal

The Biosecurity Portal is the department’s newest import booking system allowing access for greater visibility with 24/7 access to AIMS directions information and inspection bookings.

The Biosecurity Portal is highly secure, ensuring privacy and security while providing a seamless and automated process. It reduces bottlenecks and human-generated errors and delays experienced in the inspection process.  

The email method of booking import inspections has closed for most clients. The Biosecurity Portal was co-designed with industry as a more efficient way to book import inspections, and it has successfully processed more than 9,000 inspections since its launch in March 2022.

The new mode of requesting inspections will impact most approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who have been booking and managing requests for import inspections using emails. 

The Biosecurity Portal offers 2 ways of access, either through an email address and password or using your MyGovID. By using your MyGovID, you will have a higher level of access to services offered within the Biosecurity Portal as your identification has been securely verified and linked with your employer via the ABN.
