Iran Conflict

The situation in the region is constantly changing. A ceasefire is currently in place.

There continues to be a risk of further military conflict. And the security situation could get worse with little notice.

Tensions in the Middle East could impact safety and security elsewhere.

We continue to work on options to help Australians leave Iran, where it is safe to do so. See below for the latest information on border crossings.

Commercial departure options are becoming available. Contact local providers about air and land transport availability. This may be the fastest way for you to reach your destination.

Due to reduced demand, we are not currently planning further assisted departures from Israel.

If you can’t or don’t want to leave, monitor local media for the latest developments and follow the advice of local authorities.

The Australian Embassy in Israel has reopened and is operating normally.

The Australian Government has directed the departure of Australian officials from the Australian Embassy in Iran due to the volatile security situation. Our Embassy and operations in Iran are now closed.

Other embassies in the Middle East region are operating as usual.
