It’s being reported today that members of the Coalition are concerned that a lack of policy on housing affected the byelection result in Dunkley on the weekend. If they are looking at policies to support, they should have a look at what I have been up to: 💰 Since before the 2022 election, I’ve taken a proposal to the Government to establish a $2 billion Regional Housing Infrastructure Fund which would go a long way in tackling this crisis. 📝 Last year I introduced my Unlocking Regional Housing Bill to Parliament, which would guarantee dedicated funding for enabling infrastructure in rural, regional and remote Australia. 📃 I successfully amended the Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund package to improve it for regional Australians. 🏡 And I’ve also secured the $500 million Housing Support Program which will connect essential services and amenities need to support new housing. As an Independent, I haven’t been distracted by being negative or playing political games, I’ve been putting in the work to find and deliver solutions for our region and regional Australia.
