A blast from the past. On February 7, 1991 (35 years ago yesterday), at the invitation of the State Member for Flinders, Bob Katter, I joined an entourage of North Queensland journalists on a jet flight with him and Queensland National Party Leader Russell Cooper to the flood-stricken Gulf Country.

We swung by Croydon, Normanton and Karumba, flying over miles and miles and miles of floodwaters.

We had a few beers in the Club Hotel, Croydon, that afternoon where I snapped this photo of a young Bob K with Croydon graziers Jim Mahoney of Yappar River station and Jim Willis of Reigate station.
