Months of instability in the Coalition has allowed the PM and his party to ram through half baked legislation on hate speech and gun reform…. Nothing on migration.
Bob with his few staff managed to draft amendments to ensure those on an ASIO watchlist (historically or otherwise) are denied a gun license…. BASIC STUFF.
BUT the Coalition, with a staff probably well over 100 trained professionals, were too busy infighting and jockeying for positions to even support such a basic amendment (with the exception of a couple of brave MP exceptions).
Australia needs a strong opposition and mongrel outspoken independents… maybe if the Libs and Nats, put their egos aside and started listening to Australians they might be able save themselves from political oblivion.
