Keirnan Park Recreation Precinct Construction Starts

Construction has begun on the first stage of the Keirnan Park Recreation and Sporting Precinct, a major project underpinned by a $22 million commitment from the Western Australian Labor Government.

The Stage One improvements for the 63-hectare Mundijong Park site include:

Other contributions to the $35 million project have been provided from the local government and private developers.

CivCon Civil and Project Management have been awarded the construction contract with the project expected to be complete within three years.

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“Sporting precincts form such an important part of our communities, particularly in our suburbs.

“These improvements will be a significant boost to the Serpentine-Jarrahdale community with a range of sport and recreation facilities that will benefit active lifestyles.

“This precinct is much needed by this growing community and our government is committed to supporting these types of developments that support local needs.”

As stated by Darling Range MLA Hugh Jones:

“Facilities and projects like this not only support healthier lifestyles through sport and physical activity, they also bring people together and create a sense of community.

“Once complete, this precinct will fast become a thriving and bustling community hub and I know locals and community groups across Serpentine-Jarrahdale are eagerly anticipating these transformative upgrades.”
