Labor Forgets Albanese’s Funding UTAS Stadium 50:50

More seating, improved safety.

That’s the result of the $130 million upgrades at UTAS stadium following funding from both Tasmanian and Australian Governments.

Tasmanian Labor seem to have forgotten their own federal colleagues are jointly funding the UTAS stadium redevelopment, which will deliver 2,000 extra seats, including more than 50 new accessible seats.

The capacity of matchdays will increase from 15,600 to at least 17,600 – providing a far better quality experience for those attending events.

This information was publicly advertised in the development application months ago.

Today shows that the State opposition have run out of their own ideas and are only interested in stunts and stalling progress.

While trying to ride on the coat tails of their Federal Colleagues’ weekend victory, they’re still clearly at odds.

The UTAS Stadium revitalisation project will ensure UTAS Stadium will continue to host world-class events, inspiring the next generation of sporting stars and reinforcing Tasmania’s status as a premier destination for major events and sporting excellence.

This project is set to make Launceston a powerhouse for national sporting and entertainment events, boosting business, tourism, and local pride.

The Tasmanian Government is squarely focused on working positively with the Federal Government to delivering the transformational infrastructure that will create jobs, economic growth and provide better opportunities for Tasmanians.

Their Federal colleagues see the benefit of their generational infrastructure, the State opposition should get on board.
