On what would have been his 93rd birthday, we’re remembering Bill Hayden – former Governor-General, Minister for Social Security, Treasurer, Foreign Minister and a great Labor Leader.
A true believer in Labor’s capacity to improve the nation, Hayden’s leadership laid the foundation for social and economic reforms that created three decades of economic growth, and delivered Australia a new era in education, foreign affairs, environmental policy and universal healthcare.
