Peter Hendy – Liberal for Eden Monaro
DETERMINED TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE
With a successful career in business and public service, Peter has demonstrated that he knows how to get things done.
Peter and his wife Bronwyn are proud to call Queanbeyan home. Thirteen years ago they recognised it as the right place in which to raise their two children, Caroline and Patrick.
When Peter commenced his career as a cadet economist with the Federal Treasury he was determined to make a real difference in creating Australian jobs.
A PASSIONATE SUPPORTER OF LOCAL AGRICULTURE
Peter is a passionate supporter of local agriculture and small business. He was a director of the Australia Made, Australian Grown Campaign. The campaign supports the purchase of Australian agricultural produce by Australian consumers — putting Australians first.
For six years Peter served as the Chief Executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During this time Peter was the principal advocate for the Australian small business community. For his services he was awarded an Australian Centenary Medal. Peter has also run his own small business as an economic consultant.
TO DELIVER REAL RESULTS FOR THE PEOPLE OF EDEN-MONARO
As a father, Peter’s biggest joy is spending quality time with his family. When he’s not ferrying his 17-year-old daughter — a karate black belt — to competitions, he enjoys attending Raiders games with his son Patrick.
Peter has a PhD in private sector and government relations.
As part of Tony Abbott’s Liberal team, Peter wants to use his experience to deliver real results for the people of Eden-Monaro.
