Hi, I’m Damien Kelly, your local Liberal for Scarborough.
My wife Danni and I love this community. It’s where I grew up, and why we’ve chosen to raise our family here. We see vitality and potential but also current challenges.
I’ve been an Officer in the Army Reserve and have spent my life serving community organisations, coaching and umpiring junior sport and have been involved in surf lifesaving for more than 25 years. As a surfer, beachgoer and team sportsman, I understand the importance of using our best assets to foster an outdoor lifestyle and community spirit.
My career as a corporate adviser and small business owner has taught me the value solving problems with practical solutions and getting outcomes. This success comes from a positive attitude, solid education, and bringing innovative ideas to life.
I’m passionate about ensuring local development respects the needs and views of local people, and securing critical investment in local roads, transport and parking infrastructure, to ensure that we can move around our suburbs and have better access to our beachfront and other attractions.
As a member of the Liberal team, I’m also fighting for real action on the cost of living, better access to health services, more resources for local police, and support for local businesses and entrepreneurs to create jobs.
Our community deserves an effective representative who can and will fight and work hard for the things most important to us.
