Minister Duigan Takes Medical Leave

Liberal Member for Windermere, Nick Duigan, will be taking extended medical leave from February 17.

Minister Duigan will undergo heart surgery and recovery is expected to take two months.

"This is a good chance to remind everyone to trust your gut. If you feel like something isn't right, get it checked and don't let pride get in the way," Minister Duigan said.

"While I'm recovering it will be business as usual, as my capable colleagues continue delivering for Tasmania across my portfolios."

Minister Madeleine Ogilvie will look after Parks, with Deputy Premier Guy Barnett leading Energy and Renewables, and Minister Gavin Pearce handling Sport.

"I want to thank my colleagues for their support during this time, and the community for their understanding," Minister Duigan said.

Minister Duigan is expected to return from medical leave on April 12, pending recovery.
