Ministers Hodgson, Kumaraswamy Hold Key Industry Talks
Today, Canada's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Tim Hodgson, met with India's Minister of Heavy Industries, H. D. Kumaraswamy. The two ministers discussed the complementary opportunities to build trade and investment.
This meeting marked an important step toward re-establishing bilateral relations, as both countries move to deepen energy cooperation under the new roadmap for Canada-India relations.
Minister Hodgson profiled the opportunities in Canada with respect to energy and mining, noting how these could support the manufacturing goals of India. In particular, Canada offers a secure and reliable supply of critical minerals essential for India's electric vehicle (EV) networks, renewable expansion, and energy transition.
