Today we farewell The Honourable Ron Boswell AO, a giant of Queensland and Australian politics who dedicated his life to regional communities and agricultural industries.
Ron served as a Queensland Senator for 31 years, becoming one of our Party’s most influential voices. He was a fierce advocate for families, farmers, miners, fishermen, small businesses and rural Australians who understood that strong regions build a strong nation.
His legacy extends beyond parliament – from his early days as a manufacturers’ agent to his tireless work championing the interests of regional Queensland on the national stage. Ron never forgot where he came from or who he represented.
A state funeral at St Stephen’s Cathedral is a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to public service.
Vale Ron Boswell. Your contribution to Queensland and Australia will not be forgotten.
