New Community Bowling Green Beauty
Lawn bowls enthusiasts and community members are today celebrating the opening of a brand new, all-weather bowling green at the Beauty Point Bowls and Community Club.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff, who attended today’s launch event, said the new bowling green will make bowls easier and safer, allowing members to play all year round.
“This exciting new installation – made possible through a $250,000 Tasmanian Government election commitment – marks a significant milestone for the local bowling community,” the Premier said.
“We know the important role local community sporting organisations play in our regions, not just encouraging physical activity but also enhancing wellbeing, and I look forward to seeing the many benefits these upgrades will provide for the Beauty Point community.”
Liberal Member for Rosevears, Jo Palmer, said local sporting organisations are the heart of our communities.
“Our Government is investing in community facilities like the new bowling green at Beauty Point because we know how crucial this infrastructure is for boosting participation,” Minister Palmer said.
“Investments like this bring the local community together and ensure current and future residents can enjoy active recreation for years to come.”
As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, the Government committed more than $49 million to over 110 projects aimed at boosting sports and active recreation across the State.
