New Facilities For Growing Carinity Education School

Students at Carinity Education Gladstone have two wonderful new facilities to support their learning.

Funded by Carinity and the Queensland Government, the new Technology Studies and STEM buildings will be used to support and implement engaging practical learning experiences for young people.

This $3.2 million project was recently completed by Gladstone construction company Youngs, in collaboration with Rockhampton-based Beat Architects.

“This is the largest infrastructure project to expand and improve the school since we introduced our multi-million dollar hospitality training facility four years ago,” school Principal Jane Greenland said.

Jane said the new facilities would host classes in fields such as of science, mathematics, manual arts and engineering, with students’ learnings having “real-world applications”.

“We hope our new facilities will really engage our students in their education pathways, foster their curiosity for learning, and give them skills to solve real-world problems – as well as provide a real head-start with their future careers,” she said.

The expansion of the school’s facilities has been driven by the growing popularity of Carinity’s special assistance education model, which has seen enrolments at the Gladstone school rise by almost 40% in three years.
