New Non-Executive Directors Join GBE-N Board
GBE-N are pleased to announce the appointment of new non-executive directors to the GBE-N Board.
Great British Energy - Nuclear (GBE-N) has today announced the appointment of new non-executive directors to its Board, reinforcing the organisation's commitment to strong governance, strategic oversight, and sector-leading expertise.
The appointments bring extensive experience spanning complex project delivery, public and private finance, energy sector regulation, and human resources. The non-executive directors will support the Chair, Simon Bowen, and the incoming Chief Executive, Simon Roddy, providing independent oversight and constructive challenge as GBE-N delivers the first Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in Europe at Wylfa in North Wales and continues to advise government on the UK nuclear programme.
The new non-executive directors are:
David Goldstone CBE
Richard Morse
Gareth Price
Tracy Sheedy
Dr Rebecca Weston
Simon Bowen, Chair of GBE-N, said:
"Delivering the UK's SMR programme will require us to continue to move with focus and pace. Therefore, I'm excited to announce these new appointments to our Board, who bring with them a wealth of experience in delivering major, complex, and nationally critical infrastructure projects. I look forward to working with them to realise the full potential of the UK's nuclear ambitions.
"I'd also like to thank our interim Board members, who have been with us from the start. The value of their contributions in getting us to where we are now cannot be understated, and I wish them all the very best in the future."
Minister for Nuclear, Lord Vallance said:
"These new board members will bring a wealth of expertise as Great British Energy - Nuclear prepares to deliver the UK's first small modular reactors in North Wales.
"I look forward to working with the board as we enter a new golden age of nuclear, which will create thousands of jobs and boost our energy security."
This is a very exciting time for the UK as we enter a golden age of nuclear power and bring forward the biggest new build programme in a generation. The new non-executive directors will play a key role advising on GBE-N's critical roles of delivering the government's small modular reactor programme, backed by over £2.5 billion across the Spending Review period, and supporting the recently published Advanced Nuclear Framework for privately led projects.
