NRFC Appointment Underlines Focus On West

Seasoned Western Australian non-executive director Kellie Benda has been appointed to the Board of the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC).

The appointment comes alongside a commitment by the Albanese Government to work with the NRFC to expand its footprint in Western Australia with a new permanent office, following a request by the Cook Labor Government.

Underscoring the NRFC’s determination to representing a wide range of regional perspectives and leverage local expertise, Ms Benda’s appointment will further assist the organisation enhance Australia’s industrial self-reliance and promote economic growth.

Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic said today’s announcement recognises how vital Western Australian businesses are to a strong national economy.

Ms Benda’s three-year appointment complements the Board with her exceptional expertise and experience.

Ms Benda’s career spans three decades, with expertise in strategy, finance, corporate development, risk, capital markets and customer engagement.

Having held senior executive roles across a variety of ASX20-300 companies including positions as Executive General Manager, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer, Ms Benda’s dedication to excellence delivers proven and significant impacts.

Ms Benda brings an understanding of significant sectors of the Western Australian economy including the mining, resources and agricultural sectors, paired with a passionate commitment to the sustained growth and success of her home state Western Australia.

The role of the NRFC is to invest in Australian businesses and projects which sit within seven priority areas, to help boost Aussie manufacturing capability, grow a skilled workforce and diversify our economy.
