SAVING KOALAS FROM EXTINCTION IN NSW: Labor will commit $80 million to create a Great Koala National Park on the Mid North Coast, protecting 20% of the wild koala population in NSW.

After 12 years, six environment ministers, more land clearing, less environmental protections and ongoing koala wars between the Libs and Nats, koalas have gone from ‘not threatened’ to ‘vulnerable’ to ‘endangered’ – and are on track to become extinct in NSW by 2050.

Only Labor will turn that grim trajectory around and protect one of our most loved and iconic native species.
