Hastie’s support for Labor’s so-called “hate laws” was the moment many Australians finally saw him clearly. It exposed the kind of leader he would be. A man all too willing to side with Labor whenever it suits his own career, even if it comes at the expense of ordinary Australians.

That vote told us everything. When it mattered, Hastie chose the political class over free speech, and the Canberra bubble over the people he claims to represent.
