Today marks 11 years since the downing of Flight MH17. Our thoughts remain with the 298 victims – including 38 people who called Australia home – and their loved ones. The passing of time does not diminish the pain of their loss.
While we cannot take away the grief of those left behind, we will continue to stand with them in that grief and pursue truth, justice and accountability for this horrific act.
The International Civil Aviation Organization Council and the European Court of Human Rights have both found Russia responsible for the downing.
Australia calls on Russia to comply with its obligations under international law and make full reparations.
