Perth Schedules Drop-In Forums for Entertainment Hub

The new Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct at Burswood Park will bring sport, culture, and community together in a dynamic, multi-purpose destination of State-wide significance.

An online community consultation platform opened on 15 May 2025 and has since received more than 450 contributions covering topics including special events, local environment, connectivity and community use.

As flagged previously, four public drop-in forums and community feedback sessions have now been confirmed to be held in June, which will provide the opportunity for community to hear more about the precinct, speak directly with the project team, including technical experts, and provide feedback on what they’d like to see incorporated.

Ideas and feedback received through the community consultation program will help to shape preliminary concept development.

A key WA Government election commitment, the new precinct will improve public infrastructure, diversify the economy and support jobs by attracting and hosting major events.

As stated by Transport and Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“We committed to providing multiple opportunities for community and stakeholders to contribute their ideas and feedback on the development of the Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct.

“Interested community members and stakeholders can come down to Optus Stadium Precinct between Thursday 12 and Sunday 15 June and drop in to speak with the project team and technical experts to find out more about the project.

“This project will bring sport, culture and community together at Burswood Park, attracting Australian and international music, entertainment and sporting events, while being open to community and visitors year-round, as it is today.”

As stated by Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier Daniel Pastorelli:

“The consultation to date has been constructive and beneficial for the project team and the wider community, with many people learning about all the amenities and facilities that can be delivered as part of this investment.

“We wanted to provide as many opportunities for the wider public to engage with the project team, so these drop-in forums represent another great opportunity for the community as part of our consultation process.

“The Saturday and Sunday sessions will be held before AFL games, so it’s a perfect chance for people from all over the State to share their ideas and learn about this incredible precinct and how it will enhance the area for the entire community.”
