Peter Dutton

I met Alisi today at an Ovarian Cancer Australia event in Parliament House.

Alisi shared her raw and heartbreaking story battling ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed at the age of 24 and continues to battle five years later.

Her story will leave a lasting impression on us forever.

The amazing bravery she demonstrated is incredible, backed by the love of her family.

Ovarian cancer has the poorest survival rate of any female cancer in Australia.

In government, we provided an additional $20 million dollars in grants for ovarian cancer research through the Medical Research Future Fund. We provided an additional $2 million to Ovarian Cancer Australia so it could continue to support Australian women with ovarian cancer.

I thank the Prime Minister for the Government’s efforts to carry on the fight against ovarian cancer with Ovarian Cancer Australia.

The Opposition and the Government are certainly united in this important endeavour.
