The whole idea of Labor’s budget was to provide cost of living relief for Australians. That’s what the Prime Minister promised at the election.
Now the Prime Minister isn’t honouring any of those commitments.
Australians voted for this government on the basis that they were going to deliver a $275 cut to their power bill.
Instead, they’re going to go up by 56 per cent and their gas bills are going up by 44 per cent.
If it was just that, it would be bad enough, but it’s gas, it’s electricity, it’s your insurance premiums, it’s when you go to the bowser.
Australians can’t wait another seven months for Labor’s second budget to come up with a plan to deal with cost of living pressures that have become very real and painful for so many.
