Today we farewell dear Australian artist, John Olsen AO OBE.
Olsen transmitted the beauty of life and the magic of our landscape into something even more beautiful and magical on canvas.

Australian landscape, he uncovered our delightful relationship with the land.Once you’ve looked at an Olsen, it’s hard to forget his bold use of colour or fail to admire the imagination of the man.
As we admire ‘Sydney sun’ at the National Gallery of Australia – and his works in galleries around the country – may our memory of the man always burn bright.
Olsen will not just be remembered as a great Australian artist and Archibald Prize winner, he will be remembered as one of the world’s greatest artists.
