Police Update: Operation Xray Bold, Moreton District

The Moreton District Domestic and Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit (DFVVPU) Serious Crime Investigation Team (SCIT) have charged a man with additional 28 serious domestic violence (DV) offences as investigations continue under Operation Xray Bold.

A 33-year-old North Lakes man, who police allege is a known associate of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG), was originally charged with 12 offences on 13 June after a number of previous incidents were reported to police by a woman, who is known to the man.

On 20 August, further investigations led detectives to charge the man with an additional four offences in relation to the original victim, and 24 offences in relation to a second female victim, who is also known to the man.

The 33-year-old North Lakes man has been charged with 18 counts of rape, two counts of choking and one count each of coercive control expose a child, common assault, torture, unlawful stalking, intimidation, harassing or abuse, acts intended to transmit serious disease, sexual assault, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

He remains in custody and is due to appear Brisbane Magistrates Court on 30 September.

Moreton District Detective Inspector Phil Hurst said SCIT detectives believe there may be more victims.

“We are urging anyone who may have been a victim of this man to contact police,” Detective Inspector Hurst said.

“SCIT detectives appreciate the sensitivity and significance of reporting sexual and domestic violence, so please be assured that we’ll treat you and your story with respect.

“There are multiple ways to report what has happened, depending on your situation.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
