A new paper from The Australia Institute shows what many Aussies already know – inequality is getting worse. Everyday wages have stagnated while the rich are getting richer 💰 But Labor has announced they’ll raise taxes for most income earners on up to $126k, while pushing ahead with tax cuts to the wealthiest earners on more than $180k. Shouldn’t it be the wealthiest Australians and big corporations that pay more, not everyday people? The Labor government needs to stop the handouts to billionaires and corporations. They need to ditch the Stage 3 tax cuts for the wealthy and instead, tax them properly! That way we can tackle the cost of living crisis by getting dental into Medicare, making childcare free, boosting income support and freezing rents across the country.
