We’re in one of the worst housing crises in Australia’s history. But if Labor needs us to pass their housing plan in the Senate we can push for real action! 💪
On Monday 14 November 14 at 6pm, Max Chandler-Mather, Federal MP for Griffith is hosting a Zoom conference on how we can work together to fix the housing crisis 🏡 Use the link below to RSVP and we’ll see you there 🙂
More from Max:
You might have recently heard about Labor’s 1 million homes announcement. The reality is, this plan is a complete con. Over the last five years the private market built 985,000 homes – Labor is just trying to claim credit for the status quo, which put us in this mess in the first place.
Labor’s plan boils down to a commitment to subsidise the construction of just 20,000 public and community homes and 20,000 “affordable” homes over the next five years. Under Labor’s plan, the shortage of public homes will grow and do absolutely nothing for renters. Labor doesn’t want to change a housing system that funnels billions of dollars of profit into the coffers of banks and property developers.
Come along to our online briefing on our national housing campaign to learn more about how you can help tackle the housing crisis. We have a brilliant opportunity over the next few months to make Labor see just how important and urgent public and community housing is.
