RED Grant Has Esperance Business Back On Road
An Esperance business is set to boost its productivity and provide a more timely service to customers thanks to a Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant courtesy of the Cook Labor Government.
The $145,000 RED Round 7 Grant has helped Esperance Smash Repairs buy and install a new automotive downdraft spray booth along with an air compressor plant and power upgrade.
The equipment will improve productivity by enabling concurrent refinish jobs.
Specifically, the advanced paint application technology will decrease spraying and drying times by 25 per cent, enhancing paint preparation and finish quality for clients.
With the new spray booth operational, Esperance Smash Repairs can now repair and spray more vehicles, increasing overall output for the business and providing a quicker service for clients.
Goldfields-Esperance Region Minister David Michael recently travelled to Esperance to visit the business, meet the owners and view how the new equipment works.
A total of 33 projects in the Goldfields-Esperance region have received $4.8 million in State Government funding through the seven rounds of RED Grants issued to date.
As stated by Goldfields-Esperance Minister David Michael:
“It was great to see first-hand the positive impact a Regional Economic Development Grant can have on businesses in the Goldfields-Esperance region, like Esperance Smash Repairs.
“The new automotive downdraft spray booth is an impressive piece of equipment that will increase the number of vehicles repaired locally in Esperance, thereby getting vehicles back on the road sooner.
“A total of six projects from a range of industries received funding through Round 7 of the RED Grants program supporting economic growth and development in the region.”
As stated by Agricultural Region MLC Shelley Payne:
“The REDs Grants initiative is another example of how the Cook Labor Government is supporting local businesses in the Goldfields-Esperance region.
“I’m proud to be part of a State Government that is committed to helping small businesses such as Esperance Smash Repairs to expand, become more efficient, and improve services to their customers.”
