Sec. Gen. to Join Antalya Diplomacy Forum on 12th
Secretary General Alain Berset will travel to Türkiye on 12 and 13 April to take part in the 2025 Antalya Diplomacy Forum, a major international event bringing together heads of state and government, foreign ministers, leaders of international organisations, diplomats, experts, and representatives of civil society.
Under the theme “Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil”, this year’s edition of the Forum will see the Secretary General engage in a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of Council of Europe member states and non-member states, as well as other international organisations. Discussions will focus on current challenges to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in Europe and beyond.
Organised annually by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum provides a platform for in-depth exchanges on key global issues. The 2025 edition is expected to welcome more than 4,000 participants, including many high-level figures. The Secretary General’s participation reflects the Council of Europe’s ongoing commitment to promoting multilateral dialogue and the values underpinning the democratic order in Europe.
