Senator the Hon Anthony Chisholm: New facilities for staff and students at Mancel College

Assistant Minister for Education, Anthony Chisholm has opened new facilities at Mancel College in Brisbane today, which are set to improve student outcomes.

Assistant Minister Chisholm said the new facilities have been delivered thanks to the $2.36 million in Australian Government funding through the Capital Grants Program.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered new classrooms, a technology engineering space, materials room, a hospitality practices kitchen, covered outdoor learning areas and an administration area,” 

“These new facilities will provide Mancel College staff, teachers and students with more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.

“The Australian Government is committed to providing schools with the appropriate funding so that all students, including those at Mancel College in Fig Tree Pocket, get the best possible education.”

Assistant Minister Chisholm added that the new facilities would benefit the students currently at Mancel College, as well as students who will follow in future years.

“The teachers, staff and students at the College have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” 

“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.” Assistant Minister Chisholm said.
