Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia
Today I announce the appointment of Ms Jenny Grant-Curnow as Australia’s next Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia.
The Federated States of Micronesia and Australia are close partners, with a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values and common interests.
Australia looks forward to deepening this partnership and working alongside the Federated States of Micronesia to promote economic development, enhance security cooperation and address climate change impacts, amongst other Pacific priorities.
We share a vision of a strong and united region. We believe in Pacific sovereignty, led by the Pacific Islands Forum and guided by the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.
Ms Grant-Curnow is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Acting Assistant Secretary, Key Sectors Branch in the Office of the Pacific.
She has previously served overseas as Head of the Representative Office to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Ramallah; Political Counsellor in New Delhi; and undertaken short-term missions as Acting Head of Mission in Tuvalu, Nepal and Qatar. Ms Grant-Curnow has also previously served in peacekeeping operations for the United Nations.
I thank outgoing Ambassador Jo Cowley for her contributions to advancing Australia’s interests in the Federated States of Micronesia since 2020.
