Tasmanian Businesses Most Confident In Nation

Tasmania has topped the nation in business confidence, according to the NAB March Business Survey.

Tasmania has also again ranked second in business conditions, demonstrating the strong response to the Government’s plan to support business growth and expansion.

Treasurer, Guy Barnett, said this data shows our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is backing in business, helping keep our economy strong and create jobs.

“This survey shows that when we work closely with the business community, as this Government does, we give our businesses confidence to invest and hire,” the Treasurer said.

“It’s also testament to our focus on reducing red tape and making it easier to do business in our State.”

The NAB survey comes off the back of The Institute of Public Affairs ranking Tasmania second in its annual State economic scorecard, citing strong economic growth, wages and productivity growth.

Tasmania was also the only state to achieve positive per capita economic growth.

“Having a strong economy allows us to invest in the things Tasmanians care about most like cost-of-living measures, health, education, housing and community infrastructure,” the Treasurer said.
