Tasmanian Exporter Tapping Into New Market
Award-winning Tasmanian distillery Turner Stillhouse is just one local business that will be raising a glass to the new Tasmanian Trade Strategy set to drive exports even higher, create jobs and economic growth.
Premier and Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Jeremy Rockliff announced the upcoming Tasmanian Budget will include $3 million to develop a new Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2030, ensuring the State can continue to grow Tasmanian exports.
“The 2025-26 Budget builds a better Tasmania: now, and for the future, by delivering on our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future,” Premier Rockliff said.
“The first trade strategy, which I delivered in 2019, has set the foundations for business growth and diversification, created Tasmanian jobs and helped keep our economy strong.
“Turner Stillhouse is a great example of a Tasmanian business reaching new heights thanks to our strong trade relationships, making its mark in the lucrative US market with its Three Cuts Gin products.
“Today, I’m honoured to officially launch Turner Stillhouse’s two new Rosevears whiskies, including Tasmania’s first bourbon-style whiskey, which will be distributed around Australia and exported to the US.
“This next phase of growth is a clear demonstration of the hard work and dedication of Justin Turner and his outstanding Tasmanian team, as well as the international demand for Tasmanian products.
“Turner Stillhouse gained valuable exporting experience from previous Tasmanian trade missions to New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam, and received support from our Tasmanian Trade Advocate to the United States.
“These opportunities were created through our 2019-25 Tasmanian Trade Strategy and have set the foundations to continue growing our markets, creating jobs and economic development.
“Turner Stillhouse exemplifies what can be done when Tasmanian companies harness international export opportunities and take their products to the world.”
Premier Rockliff said the Tasmanian Budget continues to ensure we have a strong economy by backing business.
“The 2030 trade strategy will build on the momentum generated by the current Trade Strategy, unlock new opportunities for Tasmanian businesses, and keep our economy strong,” Premier Rockliff said.
“We know Tasmania has what the world wants, and we are harnessing this demand through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.
“This initiative will provide real opportunities for Tasmanian businesses to improve their export offerings, reach new markets and buyers and make new sales both on the mainland and around the world.”
