I am proud to introduce Abby McKibben as Labor’s candidate for the Legislative Council election in Huon.
Abby has built her life in the Huon, where she continues to live and raise her young family. She and her husband have made their home in Surveyors Bay for nearly 20 years, laying down strong community ties.
Abby is deeply passionate about making life better for regional Tasmanians. Her lived experience, as a parent of young children and as someone who has worked across a wide range of regional industries, has shaped her strong commitment to improving access to regional health services and childcare, supporting local jobs, and protecting the natural environment.
Alongside her impressive professional career, Abby is also a small business owner, running a native pepper berry farm in Geeveston with her husband.
Like many families in the Huon, they are balancing work, family, and business, and understand the pressures facing small businesses and regional communities.
