I’m proud to announce local teacher Ben Mckinnon as Labor’s candidate for Rosevears in the 2026 Legislative Council elections.
Ben has been a teacher in and around Launceston for close to twenty years and is dedicated to the role of shaping the next generation.
He lives with his wife and two kids in the electorate, and he is passionate about improving the community for not just his family, but for everyone in Launceston and the West Tamar covered by the Rosevears electorate.
Beyond the classroom, Ben has a long history in his community. He has worked as a case manager at City Mission’s Missiondale Rehabilitation Centre, served as a Social Inclusion Officer delivering employment programs, performed as a touring musician around Australia and Tasmania and had strong involvement in community sport.
