Tasmania’s Finest Continues To Grow

Tasmania Police has welcomed 15 new constables into its ranks today, with recruit course 5/2024 officially graduating from the police academy.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, thanked the everyday Tasmanians that put their hands up to keep our communities safe.

“From project managers to personal trainers, our new officers have come from all walks of life, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience with them,” Minister Ellis said.

“After honing their policing skills with a strong ‘back-to-basics’ focus, our new constables have been able to jump straight from the academy into our 24-hour police stations and bolster our frontline.

“Tasmania Police are the most trusted in the country, and after rigorous training we are confident our newest recruits will live up to the high standards Tasmanians expect.

“Through our Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we’re continuing to recruit record levels of Police to protect our communities.”

The officers will be hitting the beat in Glenorchy, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Bridgewater and Hobart.
