A new report from Jobs & Skills Australia has confirmed that the gender pay gap is alive and well… a shocking fact, but not exactly a surprising one.
The gender pay gap is driven by the undervaluation of female-dominated work, workplace discrimination, lack of workplace flexibility, lack of access to childcare, and the unequal load of unpaid caring responsibilities.
We still have a ways to go before we can achieve equality in the workforce, both employers and the government must act to close the gender pay gap.
