ANZAC Day is about remembering the profound and lasting horrors of war and doing all we can to ensure peace.
All those who have been and continue to be subjected to the deep cruelty of war weigh on us this day. We must never glorify this pain. To do so would be the greatest disrespect to all those who suffered and died in war.
We must remember because only by remembering can we understand the need for peace.
