Australia has sanctioned two extremist Israeli Cabinet Ministers, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, for inciting violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Even this step – however small & devastatingly late – would not have been possible without millions of people in their communities doing everything they can to force their governments to act.
But it is nowhere near enough. Australia is yet to sanction a single Israeli minister, military figure, organisation or entity for atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza. After 613 days.
If we’re serious about justice for Palestine and ending the genocide, this must be the beginning not the end from Labor.
Australia must sanction Netanyahu and his entire cabinet & end the two-way arms trade with Israel, and doing everything we can to end the genocide, the illegal occupation and the apartheid.
