If you’re raking in $1.1 billion in profit over the last year, you can afford to pay your workers a decent wage.
@raffwu has said the new enterprise bargaining agreement for Coles workers undermines safety conditions, introduces split shifts and ties any pay rise only to Fair Work’s annual wage review, which increases award minimums. Under the agreement, a level one Coles worker would earn $25.27 per hour, just 54 cents above the award base rate.
Instead Coles have offer gift card incentives if workers vote for the agreement. That’s despite many saying they wouldn’t be able to afford the skyrocketing cost of living – including the grocery prices in store.
Time to end price gouging in the major supermarkets and pay our workers fairly.
