On Thursday Victorian Labor joined with the Liberals to pass a bill that will threaten and intimidate peaceful protestors trying to save our environment.
New laws were passed in Victorian parliament that will see protesters faced with fines of up to $21,000, or 12 months in jail, for entering logging coups and protesting.
The very same day VicForests began logging in an area identified as greater glider habitat in East Gippsland. 🤬 This comes just weeks after the state of environment report sounded a code red for our environment and species being pushed to the brink of extinction – like the greater glider.
Let’s be clear – this bill is anti-democratic and is shameful behaviour from Victorian Labor.
