One in six kids live below the poverty line in Australia. It doesn’t have to be that way.
The Greens want to see every income support payment increased above the poverty line, alongside reforms to end the cruelty of the current system, which is designed to prevent people from fairly accessing the support they need.
We want to reinstitute a public service that is in touch with community needs, and will genuinely lift people out of homelessness and poverty. In a rich country like ours, nobody needs to be living below the poverty line.
The Greens are the only party fighting to raise the rate of ALL income support payments.
