The #LoudFence campaign originated in Ballarat, where every brightly-coloured ribbons tied represented a victim-survivor of child sexual abuse.
Yesterday if you walked past St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney, you would have seen thousands of ribbons flowing from the fences around the church.
Paul Auchettl, Ballarat survivor (pictured) put up ribbons countless times before St Mary’s finally agreed to keep them there.
“Each time they took them down, we put them back up … Today, I never dreamt that it would look like a floral carpet.”
Today and every day our love, strength and solidarity is with all the survivors and victims of child sexual abuse.
