This afternoon Senator Janet Rice was presented with a petition from GetUp!, the Australian Unemployed Workers’ Union and the Anti Poverty Centre Centre, signed by over 31,000 people.
They’re calling on Minister Burke to increase Workforce Australia’s payment penalty suspension to 90 days.
It’s vital that the government listens so that millions of Australians at risk aren’t kicked off their payments because of departmental errors.
The Greens are ready to work with Labor to fix the growing economic inequality and the broken welfare system.
