Today, rather than working to cut student debt or strengthen Medicare, Labor has colluded with Dutton’s Liberal’s to pass legislation that guts our federal environment laws all for the benefit of big corporations.
These laws allow the salmon farming industry to continue polluting Tasmanian waterways, and push the endangered ancient fish – the Maugean skate – even closer to extinction.
In the midst of a biodiversity and climate crisis, this is a betrayal, and sets a dangerous precedent.
It has never been clearer that the major parties care more about protecting big corporate profits than they do about our environment and wildlife.
You can’t keep voting for these same two destructive major parties and expect a different outcome. If you want change, the first step is voting for it.
