Decisions over energy should be in public hands. If they were, we wouldn’t be in the mess to begin with.
Nationalisation of energy would give us democratic oversight to help us move to job-rich renewables, put an end to coal and gas for a safe climate future, and ensure energy prices are fair – in the common interest of people, not for the corporate profits of a handful of fossil fuel executives.
But neither major party wants to do it.
With more Greens elected in NSW, we can push the next government to end special treatment for corporate mates, including coal and gas executives, big housing developers and investors, and the gambling lobby.
