BREAKING: The Greens have secured agreement from the Labor Government that the $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund Bill will not be spent funding coal and gas projects or logging native forests
This is a BIG win for the climate, for workers, and for our manufacturers. Coal and gas are the biggest cause of the climate crisis, and we’ve stopped public money going towards wrecking the climate and our environment.
This is what we’re in Parliament to do. To ensure our communities are put first, not the coal & gas corporations, and to show that we can make massive investments in the regions while protecting our climate and environment.
The Coalition once tried to use the Clean Energy Finance Corporation to fund fossil fuels. Our amendment ensure that this won’t happen to the National Reconstruction Fund – now or in the future.
