The WA State Government is about to knowingly let the iconic and endangered Black Cockatoos die off, and we need your help to stop them.
It’s make or break for WA’s Black Cockatoos. The pine trees at the Gnangara Pine Plantation remain one of the last critical habitats in the Perth Metro area for Black Cockatoos.
The WA State Government has already allowed about 90% of the pine trees to be cleared, with the remaining 10% due to be cleared unless WA Labor intervenes.
Join Dr Brad Pettitt MLC and bird experts from WA to learn about the history of the Gnangara site, learn about how Black Cockatoos use the habitat now, witness the destruction that’s occurred, and get a chance to see these iconic birds for yourself.
IMPORTANT DETAILSππ
We will be leaving from Brad’s Electorate Office in Fremantle at 2:45pm and traveling to Gnangara together via bus for a 3:45pm arrival. We will briefly tour different parts of Gnangara and learn about its history, before heading to a spot where we can hopefully view Black Cockatoos flying in to roost for the evening. The outing will conclude at 5:45pm, at which point we will travel back to Fremantle together.
If you wish to travel to Gnangara by your own means, you are still most welcome to join us, but please still register and let us know you will meet us there by emailing [email protected].
