Last weekend, these passionate Greens volunteers were out in Perth having hundreds of conversations with concerned renters and homeowners in our community who are all struggling in this Housing Crisis.
The community’s message is loud and clear: people need a real solution to the crisis that delivers them action now.
But despite multi billion dollar surpluses and power in both houses of Parliament, since the McGowan government was elected rates of rough sleeping has more than doubled, there are now over 33,500 people on the WA housing waitlist, and rents have increased by over 15% in the last 12 months in Perth alone.
The Greens are fighting for immediate and direct investments into building social and affordable homes, rent caps and stronger renters rights, First Nations housing self-determination, and minimum standards for accessibility and water and energy efficiency. Will you join us?
